UPDATED - 08/11/10

Glade Spring Volunteer Fire Department is now a licensed Advanced Life Support Non-Transport agency. We currently have an ALS package on three (3) of our apparatuses.

Engine 130 is our first-due pumper, currently it is equipped at the ALS "Trauma" Level. this means it has all the equipment that our other trucks have, except a Cardiac Drug Box. This will change in the very near future.

Rescue 136 is our Heavy Rescue Squad truck.  It is a fully equipped "Medic" level ALS truck, in addition to carrying one of our two sets of extrication equipment, and serves as our cascade truck at working fires.

Rescue 137 is what is referred to as an ALS "Chase car", even though it's a Ford E-Series Van. We had a custom aluminum box created to fit into the rear of the van, and outfitted it with all the necessary equipment for a "Medic" level ALS response vehicle.

Soon, GSVFD will be dispatched alongside the Life Saving Crew on all EMS calls.  At this time, we are available at the request of any agency.
